Located in the middle of an industrial business park, this poetic house of prayer will sit in a corner and visually take charge. The form is inspired from the image of the cross when Jesus fell on the ground on his way to Calvary. This wooden cross, visually taking charge, fills the gaps of the concrete walls that holds the structure together.
For the altar, since the budget was severely mitigated, the use of rehabilitated wood to create a geometric focal point is explored. Taking advantage of the garden at the back of the property, the altar creates a cross silhouette in order for light and the greens to penetrate through thereby further enhancing the experience of the observer.
