COSTA DE MADERA

Scope: ARCHITECTURAL

Situated in the southwestern part of Batangas Province is a conglomeration of properties that form large parcels of land that is rich in cultural heritage. It is adjacent to the Verde Island passage that's been a witness to the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade route. Approximately 700 hectares in size, the property is endowed with wide expanses of terrain covered with vegetation, coconut trees and almost 5 kilometer-stretch of white coral beach.

It is also planned that half of this 700 ha. property be developed into a "resort town" including affordable housing subdivisions; 18-hole golf course and fairway lots; sea-view and high-end residential-resort lots; resort condominium areas; beach resorts; a museum and a novelty feature such as a dry-docked Spanish Galleon. This development shall be anchored around a quaint town which includes light commercial and industrial areas; walk-up residential blocks, bed and breakfast hotels, reception blocks, and a Church-Plaza complex with a dramatic view to the sea.

A water front is situated on a 70 meter high ridgeline that stretch for almost three (3) kilometers. Below it is the coral beach where multi-thematic beach resorts are proposed to be located.

The other half of the 700 hectare property will be left untouched and unplanned, with the location of a few light shelters that house the caretakers of the land. The whole property is just five (5) minutes from San Juan town proper, and a two and a half (2.5) hour drive from Manila. The property is also adjacent and accessible to various local and national tourism, economics and infrastructure projects: various road network projects, fishing port in Balayan and eco-tourism spots.
